Coating Thickness Measurement
Measuring the thickness of welded coatings is a fundamental check to verify the conformity of the surface treatment and ensure the correct protection of the component.
This measurement is essential to certify the conformity of coatings, prevent functional defects and ensure the overall quality of the production or maintenance process.
The most commonly used method is ultrasonic measurement, which is based on the propagation of sound waves through the material and the measurement of the flight time of the echo reflected between the interfaces of the coating and the base material. Thanks to portable digital instruments and dedicated probes, it is possible to perform quick, accurate and non-invasive checks on surfaces with complex geometries, both in the workshop and in the field.
